In 2025, wood framing dominated U.S. single-family home construction, accounting for 94% of completions with about 947,000 homes, a 1% decrease from 2024. Concrete-framed homes made up 5% of completions, declining by 4% to around 53,000. Steel-framed homes, though rare at 0.5%, increased by 25% to about 5,000. Non-wood framing is mainly in the South, where concrete and steel homes represent 9% and 60% of steel homes, respectively.
